Yeah, espescially on FA i think its tied to the time you upload, if you manage to hit a sweet spot where many people checks FA, but not many people is uploading yet. There was that time when FA went in read-only mood and the guys who managed to get their submission on the fornt page before everything went down had their views go trough the roof.

Im unsure how much it holds true actually, I got an alt account for adult work, mostly cus I dont want perverts subscribing to me for porn and get disappointed they got nothing but general audience comics about homelessness, but it doesnt get much more views than what my main account here gets.
I also have an alternate account for viewing adult works, but I rarely have the time anymore to log on with my schedule the way it is. I try to keep my main account centered on my writing, and normally I don't write sex scenes, one I'm not well-versed on writing them, and two, I've got a few other subjects and themes I'd like to tackle (more or less deep thought, or depth-filled themes, lol).
sex scenes is something i have a problem with to. First of all, unless the story is actually about sex, like a porn story, it usually slows the story down and doesnt advance the plot. at most you need to describe the events leading up to the act or the results of it, full sex scenes are often unecessery. secondly, there are no good way to describe the relevant par,t either the words are too euphemistic, too blunt, or too technical and feel like the narrative suddenly switched to a victorian novel, slash fanfiction and a sex-ed manual respectively. Theye simply isnt a word for dick that fit all narrative styles.
Another pet peeve in sex scenes is the "any two guys" scenario, where the narration becomes so generic, it could be any two guys fuckin. Any established personality disappears in time for the sex scene. And then there's theo nes where the writer seem to get all their knowledge of sex from porn.
I am NOT an advocate of "write what you know", in fact, I dislike that advice, because it only invites amateur writers to fall in the typical trap of writing extremely self-servicing stories, more about bitching about your own troubles or mental masturbation than actually having depth and an engaging plot. I don't think tis impossible to write about stuff you have never experienced, all you need is a bit of research and empathy.
Anyway, porn = fantasy, sex doesnt work that way in real life, you dont have to have had sex to write a sex story, but at least get it from soruces other than porn, espescially furry porn.
Most of the stuff in my adult account is kinda tame, more inspired by 50s pinup art than furry porn in tone. I'd actualyl like to do an adult comic on that account with the character ive created for it, but I dont have the energy for more than one comic at a time,

I'm not really an advocate for "write what you know." It helps, but it is also very limited. I love the expression, "write what you learn," simply because learning is essentially limitless. There's a lot of different approaches to writing, I've read most of them, "write what you learn" isn't the best out there, but it is certainly better than write what you know."
Alright man, gotta sign off for like an hour and half (that's my daily drive to school alone, no passengers, lol), Be back on round 1030ish, pending if I stop for a quick bite, lol! Later!

now, i REALLY like the concept of "write what you learn", because that is essentially what I do. When I started, my experience with the homeless was the guys I saw in pasing at the train station, t oget material for the comic I've read peoples own experiences, other fiction that deals with it, autbiographies, chronicles, I've tried to look beyond the stereotype and the tragedy and find life. It's annoying how much of a blind spot it is. Peoples view of the homeless is still stuck in the Great Depression. I like to find the things people dont think homeless people do, and put it in the comic.
Like put on makeup, I got a lot of flack for that strip, but a lot of young homeless girl really do use makeup, and are often concerned about keeping up appearances. and there is still mcuhm ore stuff I need to learn. Right now I espescially need to know more about homeless shelters, how they actually operate and tend to look (like a big room with beds, a lot of the times. a big room without beds if you're unlucky).
sometimes I come across a piece of information that jsut infuriates me and I want to put it in the comic jsut to inform people, but it might not fit the story until years from now. Such as the high number of LBGT people that are homeless, espescially among the homeless youth. Transgender people lose tons of money on forced therapy connected to transitioning. Parents just throw their teenage kdis out for being gay. Homophobia annoys the crap out of me, they literary hate love!
So yeah, its write what you learn, as your world gets larger, your writing does too. Not necesserily more comforting, but larger, and deeper.

Better to expand knowledge than to lead an ignorant life. At the moment, I've not a lot of time for research on my own time, so I'm taking certain aspects I've thought were interesting from my lit classes (big mistake taking 4 in one semester, lol!). Even though homosexuality is more accepted in today's time, it is still pretty rough (being a Texan, and gay, it's practically an outsider life, lol) No one in my family knows nor my real life friends (family would probably accept it, but there would be some very awkward moments I'd like to just skip for now, friends, well, my male friends really wouldn't accept it, to my knowledge). It's easier to be gay online, since I can keep this from friends/family. Who knows what the situation will be in the future for gays in general, it'll be a long time before we have bigger monumental news I think.
Gay and living in Texas is correct, put an extra holy shit on there for the next part of my life, lol. I'm also trying to become a teacher in the state.
Religion, really isn't a contributing factor in my life. I neither care for it, or hate it actually. But as the rest of the USA, I believe roughly 90% are of the Christian faith (mixing in all different sects such as Catholicism, and Baptist, etc.). In some states, the faiths welcome homosexuality (though they are very few), and the majority is fighting gay marriage left and right as we speak. I'm not really open about my sexuality in life for a lot of different reasons. Luckily, on my college campus there is a small group centered on the LBGT community, while i keep telling myself I'll join, it being only a small discussion group, I always chicken-out at the last moment, again, Texas lol!
I would definitely believe Religion is a driving factor in the peoples lives of today, one I'm not particularly fond of especially since Texas just changed historical information in the Textbooks (watering down civil rights issues, and bringing a closer look into religion in world history, watering down the founding fathers as well). They seem to much rather believe that the founding fathers were all Christians, and not what they were (most were deists, some were atheists, and Jefferson I believe only tore out parts of the Bible and created his own). When it boils down to it, Religion is highly connected with money and politics (as it has always been). If there was enough money to buy a politician a lot of better things would get done, lol. But that last statement is probably just my cynicism talking about the issue.
A lot of the importance of Religion is handed down, in my opinion, from family generations.

It's an experiment I sometimes think about trying. If I post any porn, would my watches suddenly go through the roof, and then would they suddenly all disappear when they ready my front page that I "don't draw porn". I never can bring myself to drawing porn, though. To me, it's just not interesting. And I think it's primarily because there is SO DAMN MUCH PORN I don't see how it's exciting to anyone by this point. Aren't they all at their saturation levels by now. It's like a little kid who can watch the same movie over and over and over again.
