A possible origin story for the Unknown Lifeform:
Today, the Agency were successful in capturing and containing the latest specimen from a recent incident where some kind of experiment was performed. We're still trying to uncover the exact purpose as well as determine how many parties were involved due to the protocols of containment, and the possibility of the incident being shared.
In regards to capture of the specimen, all onsite agents followed standard protocol and used extreme caution but found capture to be shockingly easy. The specimen was, to the surprise of all, cooperative and displayed no signs of hostile. Still all agents proceeded with caution and managed to transport the specimen to a container unit with maximum durable one way mirror for study and observation.

Currently, the specimen still located the same container unit it was placed on first arrival and will later be relocated to another unit that better suit its capabilities upon analysis completion. However, many analysts have commented about said specimen always looking towards the mirror for 98% of the time with some going so far to say that the specimen can see them and maintaining a smile which has yet to be interpreted as malevolent or benevolent. The agency is finishing up preparations to start interviewing the specimen and we should discover more about it and it's origins.
