Thanks! In the end, you only really learn this stuff by trying, stumbling, failing and trying again.
I had been in a pretty bad art slump myself a few months back so I know how it feels to never quite feel you're hitting the mark. My advice for that would just be lowering your expectations: don't aim for perfection. Don't try to make something flawless. Just put in an honest effort. Try new things, draw with new brushes, draw funny looking faces, draw things youve never seen before. Whether they end up good or bad doesnt really matter, in fact, failing is often better than succeeding. What really matters is the act of doing.
As you keep to it, it gets easier to keep going.
I started this Sketch series with the intent of learning the elusive art of doodling, and while I cant say I am there yet, I think I came a long way since sketch #001. In the end, all it takes is the courage to start and the will to keep going.
To paraphrase a quote: "There is no more honorable person than he who, despite all his flaws, aims to be a better person today than he was yesterday."
I hope I inspired you to get started, at least. Good luck!
