Gammamon Warm-up Sketches
Doing warmups is honestly kinda foreign to me as I just tend to dive into work as is every day but I'm tryin' to start a habit; so I decided to try my hand with Gammamon while catching up on Digimon Ghost Game eps
(Tho I gotta note, Angoramon is actually my favorite of the trio)

I finished the show myself a month ago, and I am FLOORED ho much they could fit in 3 episodes, and especially the last one, and still make it possible to follow. Whoever is responsible is a true hero. Yet, clearly the story needed 1 more episode worth of screentime to properly wrap up. I would love a shorter season 2, or a movie. As long as the plot is expanded upon, I don't want to have another 50+ self contained episodes again.
You did not ask for a review...... but I kind of gave you one anyway.

The entire season had *a lot* of problems that 1 episode wasn't gonna solve, especially the failure to finish Gulus's line considering every other medium was basically leading to the assumption to them DNA Digivolving into their Ultra level Proximamon as a resolution. It had no reason to be 60 episodes long whatsoever in any shape or form.
I like Ghost Game on an individual episode basis but I kind of consider it the unfortunate one true failure season of Digimon as a whole piece.

I won't argue TOO much about Ghost Game's merits, but Advnture Tri, being made without the original writer in charge, and going against his wishes (to the point he left his consultant position after 1 disrespectful decision too many) is much more deserving the spot of "Digimon's One True Failure".
What I read was that it was the original series' Director who left and that was during the movie following Tri, and that the original series' Producer felt that certain elements about partnerships that she wanted to focus on in the movie weren't poked at enough to her satisfaction during Tri. Besides that the main conflict of ideals coming from the Director mostly pertains to his ideal of Digimon being more yokai vs being more data, which is something he floated back in Adv 02 and has largely not been the way of things in the media broadly other than Survive being more in line with his vision of the world.
I see a lot of people conflating the interviews with other things mostly that they just didn't like about Tri but when it comes to reading the details and translated statements from those who worked on the series, that's really all that's there from that front.

You'll have to link that statement 'cuz I never found that particular interview.
But beyond that even within the film itself the interpretation is clearly left open as the definition essentially is more about one's sense of potential, which is why some occur significantly earlier than others, and it makes particular sense why someone like Sora was the first to go and likely Izzy or Mimi would by logic probably have the longest timer within the original group. Digimon themselves are meant to be more 'static' relative to their human partners as sorts of consistent reflections to bounce off while the human partner changes and develops.
I never saw it as a one-way, permanent street and more something pointing at how people often see themselves between childhood and adulthood and the importance of regaining that personal sense of wonder for the world even as you get older, which, especially in modern times I think is getting tougher and tougher.
