In order for the ugly things perched atop Cathedrals and gothic haunted houses to be considered "gargoyles" they have to have the ability to drain liquid in a similar fashion to a drainpipe. If the statue is perched without the ability to drain water then the term is a "grotesque".

So this is likely more of a "Pietesque".

Well, so far the show has been a goldmine for random trivia. For whatever reason I retain trivia incredibly well, especially when presented in an entertaining format.

It ALSO helps that the show totally isn't broadcast in the states at all, so I'm probably one of the few people here who's seen it. Which means no one can be all "you only know that because you saw it on that totally amazing show".
