during the second and third generation of plantlikes, it was possible for the various subspecies to interbreed. this rarely resulted in pregnancy, much less a successful pregnancy, but when it did the result was a plantlike hybrid. hybrids often came out as normal children bearing resemblance to their parents for the first few months, before hitting an immense growth spurt (usually resulting in heights of 6'+ even at the age of a toddler). growth spurt aside, this also (usually) results in mutations. the most common mutations are exposed vine-muscle and the body wrenching itself into a shape more suited for quadrupedal locomotion. this is one such example of a quadruped hybrid, offspring of a dragon plantlike and an eel plantlike.quadruped hybrids are of higher intelligence than non-hybrid plantlikes. due to their appearance (and size), they tend to live their lives on the outskirts of major cities on Gliese, or in the wilds of Gliese. hybrid plantlikes also have an unusually long lifespan, capable of living upwards of a billion years-- however, the newer generations of plantlikes can no longer interbreed whatsoever. as the older generations begin to die out, so does the possibility for new hybrids to be born.The Blind Order, an infamous cult on Gliese, is known to worship a massive, ancient hybrid that lives deep within the pits of their temple.lore shit from my comic + a sketch i did to visualize some of the hybrids in a way
