Reminds me of a very religious friend here who got on my case saying my hostility could land me in hell. He kept saying "You don't want to see what hell is like!"
I only told him that I'll listen to his talk on hell when he's experienced more of it himself. "I've looked into the pits of hell and it spit in my eye."
They guy is still wet behind the ears. There's more to heaven and hell than what a book talks about. It's like... the whole 10 circles of hell bit or whatever it is... isn't even biblical. It was something written by a guy in prison. Yet so many religious people talk about it like it's part of the old testament.

Hell is not even the worst part... the Lake of fire is... its a whole seperate part... just like Paradise and Heaven, they do mention both in the Bible...
I am not trying to start an arguement, just pointing out what Duntov475 said...the Circles of hell are used in other Cultures, not Christianity.
I am a Christian and i do believe in heaven and hell, and i have literally been to hell and back, half metaphorically.
My Fiance has had trouble with Demons and i got involved in it...it was pretty freaky, i have seen hell through the eyes of a demon (yes i have been possessed, not fun) and it was horible, i never want to go back there again.

Reminds me of my Dad telling about two door-to-door types that engaged him in a little discussion about the Bible. As it turned out, he knew it better than they did. They didn't come back.

Ahh, the threat of Hell. Just one of the many fear tactics religions use to terrify people into converting and staying and in the religion and into doing good things (not that it always works. Ever hear of sunday christians?).

Fear and threats shouldn't be what compels someone to be a good person, nor should it be what compels someone to believe a certain way.

I've seen both sides (being both in a caotholic school, around my family that is of catholic religion and Ironically athiest XDD) but to tell you the truth, 90% of them aren't as bad as most people say they are, I mean, my ENTIRE school (well most) Is absolutely fine that I'm bisexual and I'm not treated like I have a disease. I even went to the church in my schol and openly said I'm bi and the priest said that it's fine. It's just those 10% who actualy USE the bible from when they wake till they sleep that are like that, and I've encountered a few of them and they kind of shunned me but my number 1 retaliation for that is

"Well, you know, you shouldn't tell that to someone that doesn't follow your religion".
