Maybe, but your picture also gives me this weird mother/son vibe. What if she adopted him and she's comforting her grown up son about a problem? It could be that she only looks menacing because her species happened to evolve a look that we evolved to fear.

In other words, our perception of menace is an illusion created by primitive artifacts of our own brains.

For all we know, her species might feel about our species the way we feel about puppies and kittens. What if humans have there version of the "baby face" and we look really cute and adorable to them?

Heh, yeah, that's another neat idea. I definitely wanted the creature's expression to be ambivalent - seduction? threat? mischief? affection?

I suspect that "furry" beings, if they actually existed, would seem enigmatic and disturbing to us in ways both overt and subtle... which is how the lady pictured here strikes me. Is that a smile on her face? Who can tell?
