Are those Juncos? I love those little guys. I have a couple dozen who all live in a flock together in a tree near my house. All wild, I just refill my bird feeders and watch them forage all day. I think at the highest amount I ever saw in a day was about thirty. I do live in a neighborhood that has cats so when I see them try to intrude into my yard, I have to chase them off lol. Not too many outside cats come by my house any more. Which, is fine by me. But all the juncos and song birds I could ever want love to stop by.

These are gray partridges.
I like to feed the birds too, usually tits and a couple of nuthatches come to me. Like you, I have to protect my favorites, but not from cats, from pigeons, who are ready to eat absolutely everything!

Lol yeah Pigeons can get mean! It used to be crows and blue jays as well, but I put a feeder out front for them, give them bigger seeds and it keeps them happy. Either way, the pic is great!
