Interstingly enough, ya know what the first thing I *really* noticed about this picture was? The presence of the stitched seam around the hole where his tail pokes through the jeans.

*That* shows a good deal of thought and/or insight went into this piece.

How did you get the acrylic that thin? Its almost watercolourish. o_O

Partly by mixing it with acrylic glazing liquid, and partly by adding water =). I like to thin down my acrylics and use many layers to achieve the shading effects.

amazing work! It creates a great atmosphere!
I really like the background a lot, makes me want to practice my painting skillz. I;m more of a color pencil guy, besides I couldn't find any skill-up parties to level my painting skillz (FFXI/MMO joke... sry just had to throw that in :P)

Speaking as someone who lives on the coast himself, and who has watched a great many colourful sunsets? I think this is the first time I've ever seen a picture which outshines the nature it emulates.
