Highly doubtful it's Sauria clothing, from what I saw of Saurians. That and they don't have females present to my knowledge, so it's also unlikely that Krystal just so happened to find an outfit of theirs that fits her precisely, especially with her body type being so different. Plus, her outfit gives off the royalty vibe, with the gems and whatnot, which makes no sense since Saurians seemed to favor power over wealth.
It makes perfect sense when all the clues come together. You're just stubbornly refusing to accept that fact. And that's funny, coming from you, the guy who's pushing his idea onto everyone from jumping to the conclusion that Cerinia isn't a tribal planet. It could be, it could not be. But the evidence from Krystal wearing tribal-style clothing and jewelry that the Saurians aren't shown to have, she uses a staff with tribal patterns, and she has tribal tattoos indicate that these are things from her personal tribal background.
Yes, they're free to imagine it however they want. Why do you have the right to try and force people from imagining it the way they want to? If they wish to think it's a tribal planet, let them! If you want to imagine it as not one, fine. But don't come in here forcing your idea of it onto everyone else who prefers to think of it as tribal, especially when there is evidence that it is indeed likely tribal!
I love this. Fox taking part in Krystal's culture is something I can see him doing in earnest because he's such a sweetheart. The body paint is a great touch and I love how it's a continuation of that other picture you did a while back. Cape Claw would be such a nice place to see them visit together, especially in such a casual way like this.
At least, he's comfortable with his Cerinian outfit now and has gotten over his embarrassment since this picture: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/28626719/
Are you aware of tribalpunk? No? Go look it up. There's nothing wrong with tribal-type planets having advanced technology but still deciding to dress in a tribal manner, nor is it stupid. Why are you so aggressive with trying to assert that she's wearing clothing from a place she visited rather than her homeworld's style of clothing when it makes no sense for her to do so?
Out of respect for the people who the most sentinent tribe of has been hounding her. If it was paint, it would have come off in the rainstorm at the start of the game. As for your claim, no, not every person does. But in Krystal's case, every piece of evidence points to the fact that she is from one. Your refusal to accept that possibility is astounding.
With nothing to go on but a brief note on the inside of the Star Fox Adventures game box, I imagined Cerinia as a technologically advanced civilization with space-faring capabilities, but where its telepathic populous chose to not venture from their tropical home world. Their cities blended in with the surrounded jungles where homes had fountains and lush gardens. Because of the hot climate, all Cerinians wore very little (i.e loincloths), and were not encumbered by nudity taboos.
There is a lot more detail to it that I've worked out, but it would take paragraphs to go over it all.

There were no tribal clothes on Cerinia, only modern clothing, but animals on Cerinia had more than one fur color. Krystal’s blue fur is natural, like the rest of her family. Cerinia was ruled by a monarchy & had technology, but magic existed on it. That’s just my version of it.
Did not expect so much drama in the comments. =P All over Fox's wardrobe! People can be kinda silly, can't they?
I, for one, like his new duds, and the tattoos are pretty cool! Though it does make me wonder if they're permanent or not. I mean, it's possible there's some kind of fur dye involved, but these things are rarely explained or explored in games. Might as well make up our own rules, yes?

Actually, after having gone over the arguments, I think he might have a point, if poorly argued. There's really not anything in Star Fox canon - that I'm aware of - that says what Krystal is wearing is typical for her homeworld. There's also nothing that says it's not. There's no proof either way. Far as I can see, all we know about Cerinia is:
1. It was Krystal's homeworld.
2. Keyword was, as it suffered some catastrophe.
3. Krystal is the only known survivor.
We really don't know anything more than that thanks to the messy canon of Adventures and the development trouble it had since its early days as Dinosaur Planet. So, it's kind of a blank slate.
That said, I think one could make good arguments against Cerinia being a tribal planet, or at least having its citizens go around in next-to-nothing (though nudity is kinda relative; some human tribes don't consider the bride "naked" if she's wearing her best jewelry). Maybe the tribal wear is more "traditional" and is worn during ceremonies or during some kind of sabbatical or retreat. Or a rite of passage. Since we don't know, the best we can do is make up our own ideas, and make sure the reasoning is solid.
But in any case, there's a time and a place to make your arguments. =P The comments section of a piece of fanart may not be the right place for such things.
