I would have been happier though if she was a protagonist, or maybe reformed later on (maybe she did, I don't know) a la trixie from MLP. Starting out as an adversary and switching sides. That can work out well.
I know it's how things worked out with Gatomon from Digimon and Faith on Buffy, both characters I really liked in both alignments.
