The assistant can't be too dim. He has just been ordered to kill several people, and than report to an isolated location, and not tell anyone. Sounds like a trap.

I mean, we saw him talking to someone else saying where the assistant was going and saying "make it look like a accident", so it's obvious it's a trap and he's trying to pin everything on his assistant (since the other guy of the Cabal got pissed off he went by himself with the whole "let's kidnap Mink plan" (the others wanted to see if she wanted anything they could offer) and said if he didn't took care of things, they would 'take care of him').

Killing and murdering all the way to the top does make you a hero, it makes you still a murderer. If the guy ip top lives and gets away with it then that is fair. Cursing him etc would be karma
