D-list heroes can sometimes be the better ones.

This is true. I think Justice League Unlimited had a couple episodes dedicated to such heroes. Or at least one about a guy from the future who traveled back in time to become something of a celebrity... and learning how fame and fortune aren't nearly as important as keeping people safe.

Man, they don't seem to make 'em like that anymore. Young Justice is good though. Gonna have to catch up on them sometime.
