A dragon badger? Sure, could be interesting. Mostly black with white head-neck stripes and golden borders?
The only character I have who is sometimes a (golden) dragon is a metamorph who switches forms by unzipping whatever form she's currently in, like a costume, even if that means a 25' dragon emerges from a pine marten but that's probably too silly for you. :) I had a picture of her shaking the marten suit off her foot, but I seem to have lost it.
