Poor Jerek must always have his work cut out for him with Viridian always around him. He probably just spent a few seconds too long perusing the game store to give Viridian a fun idea. Then 6 or 7 steps later, his paws are as wide as the road and he's still growing! At least they've saved money on the bus fare back home!
For the eagle eyed viewers amongst you, you may have noticed this picture was hidden as an Easter egg in "Outgrowing the House", Using the rather magical "Enhance" feature in Photoshop, I am now able to bring you it in it's full resolution! After all these years, Jerek is one character of Alterflane's that I've never drawn macro. I've drawn him micro and normal height a bunch of times, but never macro - so this picture is fixing that.

The real kicker here is that Viridian actually had several dozen different ray guns charged and ready depending on what Jerek answered with. He made a very good choice, he looks very fantastic in Big And Growing! And of course Viridian's making sure to tag along upwards and outwards- not sure if there's any plan there but there really doesn't need to be, with her. Thanks for letting a few of my crew visit, the crowd really helps emphasize how suddenly Viridian can upend (and upsize) a situation!
Yeah, it's always worth keeping various potions, growth rays and other size / TF altering nonsense around when you're Viridian. She rarely seems to label things, and most things that are labelled, seem to be labelled wrong, so getting a blast of growth beam's gotta be a nice change for Jerek at least!
I'm fairly sure Viridian doesn't really plan too far ahead. That counts as too many spoilers as to what kinds of fun the day might hold in store.
Thanks for letting me borrow 'em! It's a surprisingly divine crowd down there, but that adds another fun possible way of viewing the antics of the picture, where Jerek and Viridian have walked out of a shop and Jerek's spotted far too many folks he doesn't want Viridian to blast with a growth ray! So perhaps he's just taking a hit for the team!

I do like your description as an alternate explanation for the picture though. Jerek spying all them and going.. Nope! I'll be the distraction, don't want her zapping any of those!
