Here's the original design filled out by 
Darbaras for Kai! This sort of suit is what is required if her race wants to walk around out of water. Think of it as a reverse drysuit; it keeps water in instead of keeping it out. She's got an air tank that's used to reoxygenate the water going over her gills, some CO2 vents or emergency releases, and a utilibelt.
The gun is a simple grenade launcher. Currently she has stun or dye rounds equipped; just a training operation!
