Being a fan of Pokémon, it is helpful having friends that have the opposite version. Beary and Zeke kept track of Pokémon that were exclusive to each version and decided to trade, I traded him the Shining Pearl exclusive Pokémon while he traded me the Briliant Diamond exclusive Pokémon. We also helped each other get Pokémon that can only evolve via trading even warning him about the NPC that trades a Haunter that doesn't evolve due to holding an everstone.
