When the sun sets over a cities, many stories often come to their daily end, while other stories just get started. No place in the city better represents this that the city's subway, where folks of all walks of life share often one very tiny and cramped space just to continue their daily stories. In the very rare of cases, a story can be both bad and great at the same time, as was the case of two young men whose shared space became one of both embarrassment and a blossoming friendship.
Chris, the Syrian Brown Bear best known as "Unlucky Lucky Chris" due to seemingly having both good luck and bad luck at the same time, had finally ended his shift at the movie theater. On this particular day, though, he was compelled to take the subway, despite hearing some shady stories about it. Shrugging it off as urban legends, he quickly boards the subway back to his dorm room. A quiet spotted hyena was already in the car, sitting while he was enjoying some music through his headphones. Chris first sits across from him and doesn't think much of it.
When the subway train was setting its course, Chris would look around. He was quick to notice the hyena's green sneakers. Being a huge sneaker fan, he gathered the courage to interact with the spectacled hyena.
"Hey! - Chris slightly shouted, catching the hyena's attention.
"I really like your sneakers! They look great, big fan of that brand and design!"
The hyena smiled and blushed a bit from the compliment. He too notices Chris's own sneakers and decides to compliment him back.
"Thank you! I love your sneakers too! Where did you get them"
"Oh these? These were a gift from my grandpa! They are a bit vintage and my favorite pair! Do you happen to be a sneaker fan too?"
The hyena went from sitting quietly at the subway car to nodding in an enthusiastic manner at the thought of finding someone likeminded when it comes to his favorite hobbies. "My name is Andre! Great to meet you!"
"My name is Chris! Also I love your headphones, what kind of music are you listening?"
"Oh? Just the soundtrack to the game "Mystics of Gaea". Been playing it non-stop after work and school"
" No way! I love that game, too! I've been grinding to get my character to level 50 so I can challenge the Master Quest!"
With the enthusiasm briming from both of their eyes, Chris quickly makes his way to where Andre is sitting and begin a meaningful conversation about their comfort hobbies. For Chris, it felt just right to meet someone with not just the same interests but with the same passion he has towards them. Their conversation would be so insightful for both of them and they managed to miss their stops over and over again. It didn't matter, what they were making at that moment in time was far more important than going home for the day. Despite that, it would have been wise for both of them to pay attention where the train was stopping and who was getting in and out as during their conversation a shady figure had entered their car. It was a pickpocket that would roam the underground subway looking for some loot from the poor suckers that cross his path. He sees the two young men and quickly makes a mental plan to swipe their belongings.
The pickpocket was known for having near mystic thieving skills. Even if both Chris and Andre were in full conversation mode they would still not notice him. He quickly approaches Chris and grabs his wallet from his back pocket, then swiftly yanks his silver four leaf clover chain necklace from his neck. He then places his hands on both of Chris's front pockets, grabbing whatever he had in them, and leaves the pockets inside out. He then moves onto Andre and also grabs his wallet and takes his headphones away.
He could have just ended it there as what else could he get from them other than the clothes from their backs? That's precisely what he decides to do. The two young men were too enamored by the conversation to even noticed that part of their belongings were gone, so the pickpocket starts to steal everything else from them. Between the flashing lights, the noises of the train and their own conversation, Chris and Andre were oblivious to the undressing at hand; shirts were taken off effortlessly, belts and zippers undone and pants falling to their ankles. The sneakers that started this whole conversation were also ripe for the taking, with Chris's sneakers slipping off his feet easily, while Andre's sneakers were a bit hard to pull off but eventually left his feet. The only thing left to do was to slowly take off their socks, revealing the bare feet that would be against the cold, harsh ground. Andre's white socks were very white and clean while Chris's socks were a tad well worn.
The pickpocket looks at both of them and they were in just their boxer shorts and still in their conversation. If he wanted, he could have taken both of their boxers just to prove that he could do it. The car, however, was beginning to slow down. He quickly folds the clothes and places the sneakers, socks and accessories on top of them and bolts out of the scene. Andre then begins to feel that his feet are cold and a draft that covers his whole body. He then takes a look at Chris and is quickly taken aback by the sight at hand.
"Wait, what's the matter, what happened?" - Chris asks as he too feels the draft coming from seemingly everywhere
"Your clothes, they are gone! You are in your shorts! How did you not see and feel that??"
Chris was quickly to look down to his heart boxer shorts and quickly cover his chest and underwear. But he then looks back at Andre, realizing that he too had been stripped. "Your clothes are gone, too! Even your nice sneakers are gone!". Andre feels his orange boxers and takes a look at his bare feet, wiggling his toes. He looks back at Chris, then back at himself.
"Chris, we got robbed!"
"I knew I should have followed my gut instinct and not take the stupid subway! My bad luck will follow me no matter what, and now I got you roped into this!"
Andre notices that Chris feels more upset that he got someone involved in what could have been just his own mishap than being stripped almost naked. "Hey, don't worry about it, this kind of thing actually happens to me all the time if you can believe that! You ain't alone here! Besides...your boxers are cool!"
"And your orange Poke-shorts are pretty cool, too!"
This seemed to lift Chris's spirits a bit as at the end of the day, he felt like he made a friend that was similar to him in many ways. But the fact of the matter was that both were in their underwear in a very public space. The car makes a stop and both quickly bolt up from their seat, being able to see a group of people outside. They had to think quick; how can they both avoid the crowd and safely get back home without being noticed?

That's why Chris is named Unlucky Lucky Chris; his life is surrounded by such a MYSTIC sense of serendipity that even when he had his clothes stolen and someone else's clothes stolen at the end he made a long time friend that truly gets him and doesn't judge him or make fun of him. Chris is beyond lucky on that.
