This is my dog, Doom. He is half Rottweiler and half Australian Shepard. See the little vest on his back? Yeah, he is my service dog too. I have really bad panic and anxiety attacks. He keys into when I am about to have one and directs my attention onto him. He is the kindest, gentlest, lovingest dog I have ever met. I don't know how I could live without my baby. He has been my constant companion for the past 5 years. He was found in a gutter not far from my old home in Copperas Cove half starved to death and in really bad condition. A family took him in, gave him medical care and nursed him back to health. We were in the parking lot of Wal Mart and I saw the family that had cared for him sitting in the back of their van with a sign that said "Free dog to good home". I had been wanting a dog and my parents had I had been going to the pound looking at what they had there. I saw Doom and I knew he was the one I wanted. We took him home and he has never left my side. He was only six months old when I adopted him and now he is five years old. I love my gentle, four legged angel.
The picture was taken on one of our mall outings. See how well behaved he is? I hardly had to hold his leash the whole time we were sitting around chatting with people in a lounge area.

We have a rottweiler dobbie mix who is also a rescue and sweet as pie. (there are numerous images of him in our scraps)
How did you obtain the certification to make him a service dog? We have a close friend who has extreme anxiety attacks as well as vision problems who would like info on this subject. :)

Well, as long as you have a well behaved dog with basic obedience training who will listen to that person who needs the help and you get a prescription from a psychologist they can be a service dog. Doom was a foundling puppy who was starved and in a gutter when the woman who rescued him found him. I came across him in a Wal Mart parking lot one afternoon when the woman who found him and her husband were trying to find him a home. From the moment I saw him I felt drawn to him. Weeks after he became a member of our family, he would always start to nudge me when I started feeling bad. After being with him for almost 6 years come August, he has become my guardian angel. He senses when I need him and is so well behaved. You hardly even know he's there half the time. Even when we go out to eat he knows his place is under the table and not to come beg for food. I am happy to answer any and all questions you may have. I know I'm not too good at really explaining things.
