Was a little apprehensive about posting this piece; it was drawn for me as a commission by Jennadelle, with some fairly loose themes and ideas, one of which was seeing Delores, Lux's MD-11, depicted as a fantasy creature interacting with Lux, and the other was kinda outlining how I felt about flying and my dreams as well as her own take on things. The end result ended up being something that really impacted me on a personal level, as I turn my back on the darkness which has filled my life for so long and cling onto this sole dream; my source of light and comfort; a warm and tight embrace pulling me in deeper and deeper.

Lux's MD-11, depicted as a fantasy creature interacting with Lux
That is a scary, disturbing, exciting, erotic and intriguing concept that has left my head spinning. The concept of pilot and machine in perfect gestalt is powerful and chilling and yet...... oddly peaceful too. Yoke in my left hand, throttle/mixtures in my right, snugged into the folds of her left seat, an umbilical cord connecting my ears to her radio stack and the musky scent of L110 avgas in the air. Separate, we are otter and machine, an old man and an effeminate Cessna 152...we are incomplete. But together, my kite and I.....we are a sparrow.
