I just watched Ink today, and I gotta say, for a low-budget independent film, I was actually impressed.
The movie starts out kinda slow, but it picks up near the end, and by the end, the softy that I am, kinda had me misty eyed. I suppose partially because it touched on some personal fears and insecurities even.
I liked it enough to whip up a quickie doodle.
Through the first half of the movie, I was actually thinking about skipping the movie altogether, but by the end, I was glad I didn't. :)
So if you got a spare 1.5 hours, and wanna watch a quality indie movie, check out Ink! I left the trailer and the full movie links above! :)

Oh man, I LOVED this movie. I was so happy when I saw this from you. While the thin budget was a bit distracting at times, eventually I kind of liked the charm it gave the movie. Especially the designs for the bad guys... Man, the oily, inky black outfits and those creepy, disturbing facial screens they wore. Such amazing character design.

Also the soundtrack is so beautiful. I highly recommend buying it!

Yeah, the soundtrack was surprisingly good!
And yeah, the thin budget was noticeable a few times, but I got over it as the movie went on and forgave it pretty easily. The bad guys I LOVED. The face screens they wore (metaphor seems heavy here) and the outfits LOOKED cool... but what I thought was an even nicer touch, was the SOUND their outfits made. It was cool to just HEAR the tight stretchy sound they made as they walked, and before seeing them on screen, you already KNEW they were approaching. :)
I figured the movie needed a little more exposure, and definitely deserved some quick fanart. :)

Oh man! I saw that flic when it was first released! I actually had about the same reaction to it watchin it the first time. Totally worth the time watchin it.
Also, this is a fantastic piece. I love the simplicity of the style and I think it portrays the over all atmosphere and general ambiance of the movie.

Hahaha, and actually there were a few moments where I caught myself doing the same... just thinking about how I'd do it in AE. ;) The lens flare is one of those things I think that is laughed at, but when used right and appropriately, it can add to the scene. :3

:) If anything, it's actually nice to see that a few people here and there have already seen it, and enjoyed it before me. Kinda felt like a little diamond in the rough when I found it on hulu, cause I've never heard of it before just randomly clicking it.
And thanks a lot dude, for the kind words! :) And I agree with ya.... I think there was a nice handful of moments that I could imagine people drawing inspiration from for fanart.... I just went a more simple route with an Ink portrait.

I fell in love with the movie the first time I saw it. ^_^ Still have the soundtrack on my iPod. I just randomly picked a movie one day when I was bored. I'm so glad I picked that one. :P I may be over hyping it but I loved every minute of it. Great Job on the art! Depicts him well!
yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes =DDDDDDDDDD mooore saw this just after it came out, the music is gorgeous, the story line is superb the everything is fudging awesome!!!! The characters! OHHHH pleeeeease draw Jacob pleeeease 83 this film sky rocketed to one of my all time faves with the first watch XD

Drank a bottle of wine and watched this last night after seeing this pic. Definitely teary-eyed by the end as well(and slightly confused for a little bit there). Emma getting more and more brave was pretty cute. Jacob was pretty cool too, beat of the world and all.

Hehehe, I imagine a bottle of wine would either enhance or distract from movie watching. :) Regardless, glad you gave the movie a chance, and even got into it with the ending and all. ;) I definitely kinda sat there for a bit after the movie to reflect a few parts I was a little confused about.

Wow, Im so glad I saw this piece! I watched the movie right afterward, and I really liked it! I mean, it didnt keep me on my toes the whole time, but I really liked the effects they were able to pull off, and the characters they were able to develop.
