This is a basic quiche with some tasty things added in to it.
The egg mixture:
4 eggs
1/4 cup heavy cream
2 tbsp milk
The seasonings:
1/2 tsp cayenne
1/2 tsp sweet smoked paprika
2 tbsp finely chopped chives
Salt and pepper to taste
The tasty stuff:
6 asparagus spears, steamed and cut small
6 THIN slices of serrano ham
1 cup of assorted shredded cheeses
2 oz slightly softened goat's cheese
I admit to using a store-bought crust for this, I've never been particularly good at making savory pastry. I par-baked it for about 20 minutes.
After mixing the eggs and seasonings, I poured them into the pie crust and began adding all the miscellaneous tasty stuff. A little mixing with my fingers was required to get even distribution, but it got there. I broke the goat's cheese up into 8 pieces and placed it around the outside of the quiche before baking.
I baked this in a 350F oven for 30mins rotating the quiche half-way through the cooking.
