On one hand, I'll get discounted/free dental.
On the other hand, that will be from a dentist I don't trust, who hasn't treated me for years, and I have a very unique and difficult to deal with mouth.
On the other hand, I struggle extremely to afford any sort of payments to my dentist, who already gives me large discounts.
On the other hand I've already had five teeth pulled at this point and seeing any dentist, even one I almost definitely won't trust and have to wait for ages just to get into is another thing.
(Yes, I brush my teeth with prescription toothpaste and floss and all that. I have genetically inferior enamel and teeth, so they break and become infected extremely easy.)

The only advice I can give is to ask yourself "What made me not trust this dentist in the first place?"
If the reason was because something they did lead to a follow up procedure which meant spending money than I'd say look elsewhere.
If the reason was that they were a jerk, I'd say grin and bear in then catch their ass for malpractice if they do anything fishy.
