So I've had some free time lately, and I've decided that it is definitely time to go back to Pokemonathon. :) Pikachu, though grossly over-represented, has always been a pretty alright Pokemon in my opinion. Back in the red and blue days I'd always pace back and forth in Viridian until I ran into one, and usually it'd stay on my team for the whole game. One of the coolest glitches I encountered back in the red and blue days was a time when I was training up a Pikachu, and randomly, at level 37, it spontaneously evolved into Raichu. We all know that Pikachu requires a lightning stone to evolve, but I learned later that if you have a name with a specific letter in a specific place, strange glitches (like Pikachu evolving without a lightning stone) would happen.
I actually recommend looking up how glitches in Pokemon red and blue work if you have the time; so much of the random chance in that game is based solely on names (your name and Pokemon names specifically). That combined with the long and drawn out coding process created a fragile environment that people learned to exploit. Anyway, it's cool stuff, so you should check it out!
I feel a little "eh" about this picture; there are some parts that bother me and I may go back to, specifically the background. The lightning and lights/shadows turned out pretty good in my opinion, however. As for the Pikachu itself, I decided to go with an aberrant pattern on its back. The normal two stripes are boring, and I don't see why different Pikachu can't have different back patterns. It's all genetics anyhow!
I also foresee a style change in the future; I have an interesting idea for Raichu that I might get started on tonight. I think that's about all for now though. Hope you enjoyed my rant, and prepare to see more Pokemonathon in the coming days. :)

I really like what you did here, especially with the pattern on the Pikachu's back. Makes it seem more wild, instead of THAT ONE Pikachu.
I agree that there are some things that need to be fixed. The lightning appears too..I dunno, it sounds punny, but it's too static. It needs to be brighter, more dynamic, more lightning-y. The rest is awesome though. I like it.

Since a lot of the same coding from R/B were used in Pokemon Yellow, it might also be in that version as well. Once you hit gold and silver, however, a lot of glitches were ironed out (probably because they re-coded the entire game and had more experience with avoiding glitches on a whole).
