After a few Weeks, I had the motivation to finish this small project :3

The second ship in the line of Animalia’s space age. The Adventure! Here she is ready to approach a new, undiscovered gas giant :3

The Venture Class is one of the smaller Light Cruisers of the Animalian Stelar Federation. The ship is known to be a small Explorer that served at the same time as the Dakota Class, around in the 2090‘s, and for her career in the Animalian-Katran War, where countless ships of this class Served as Auxiliary Support and Defence Ships. The ship gained a reputation of being one of the toughest ships during the war


Although not as big as her larger Explorer variants of the Dakota Class, small vesses of the Venture class were used by the Starfleet of Animalia for short range exploration missions and Surveys around planets. The ship was well known for its slow speeds, and it was ideal for patrolling Planetary sectors and assuring safety where it was needed, aswell as conducting countless research projects that accelerated Animalia’s development in space.

The Venture’s small size, allowed it to also traverse hard sections or Space that were inaccessible to the Larger Explorer classes, making it a preferred choice of young Captains.

With the beginning of the Animalian-Katran war however, many of these ships were used as Support vessels, but many were lost due to their poor survivability, with the Katrans being able to destroy their Reactors and Shield Generators. Around 2093, with many ships lost, Starfleet is pressured to refit the Venture class, into a Light Attack Cruiser. These ships were to be used as Support Vessels for many fleets subfleets.
The ship was enhanced with many new weapons, including a devastating Pulse cannon under it’s saucer and with Technology given to Starfleet by the [Redacted] Consortium to bear an advanced Shield array that could recharge quickly without draining power from the main Reactor. Following these Upgrades, these ships became more and more effective. During the war, the ship was divided in many subclasses, including a Carrier and Engineering vessel.

The Venture class was reconverted for Exploration missions after the war, and continued a long lasting career, that followed for the years to come…



Designing the ship:


When I drew the vessel, I took heavy inspiration from the of the USS Saladin interceptor as seen in the Star Trek TOS/ Kelvin timeline, in creating the shield generator. It’s design closely resembles the ship‘s main nacelle, however, in Animalia‘s canon, the nacelle Bussard collector is actually the location for the advanced shield array. As such, I decided to add its impulse drive and warp engines in small housings at the back of the now, so called „Engineering Section“. The large engineering sector, (Former Nacelle) houses the Reactors, Shield Generator and Deflectors, aswell as a large Hangar that can be used to Support a wide range of Fighters
