i think it used to be common to carry a lock of hair from someone important to you. though usually not so much and in a safer spot like a locket or in a book or something.
then again maybe he's just a weird stalker and he'll walk up to mylar like, "i've been collecting your hair" holds up necklace and mylay's like, "oooookay?" xD
