This is an example of what I miss about the furry community. Letting people know about random obscure things they found and liked by drawing fanart. You know what's something I haven't seen really any traction on? Tamamo-chan. Super adorable manga with a lot of kitsune-related lore and history included. Appealing and straight forward character designs. Not really a lick of fanart or attention.

Regardless, yay, pop culture fox. Never any head hair (like they're trying to distance themselves from the 'furry' thing) but still seems like some thought was put into her design. Good for them.

I think I saw Tamamo Chan's cover a few years ago but didn't read it. Some japan kemono just doesn't hit it with international audience. She might be popular in Japan though....

Diane has a weird coloring style for a fox. It does make her unique though. Without her Foxington name I wouldn't think her as a fox lol.

Yeah, that wolf. Feels weird with all that pre-hype, characters are almost forgotten by the time the film itself comes out. GF got back with me, said it releases in a few days. We'll see if that gives another surge but probably not much. Obscure pop culture is not as interesting to 'the fandom' anymore, but it's nice when people take the time.

At least, the usual depiction of 'kemono' from the art community doesn't come to mind when I think of her. She's actually pretty sparsely known even with Japanese viewers. Almost no fanart of her. It's a shame because the manga strikes me as well written and the art is solid and mostly consistent.

She lacks some of the typical 'socks' that you'd see, but pink noses aren't uncommon. https://livingwithfoxes.weebly.com/.....mutations.html However, pretty much every pink nosed fox also seems to have similar colored lips. So their choice is a bit off-the-cuff. She could certainly have a bit more color variety but she seems foxy enough. The perked ears have an interesting 'professional' feel to them.

I've seen a little Tamamo-chan fanart on DA, but yeah, there's surprisingly little art of the characters from that manga. Which is a shame given how lovely they are.

Another series (well, character) that I've seen little fan art of is Giselle from The Ancient Magus Bride: Wizard's Blue.

I'm about to watch the OVA for Magus Bride with the GF. I think I heard there's some upcoming content for the franchise, but I'm not aware what it is they are doing. Or maybe that news was related to that OVA drop.

Oh, on a similar topic, there's apparently a spinoff for Grimoire of Zero (anthro white tiger dude) which is airing next season (Spring), which has a lizard dude in it. Maybe some background/side characters too since they're common in that world, we'll see.

This is an incredibly well-done picture, but when it's viewed in preview size, it's easy to mistake her glasses for her pupils -- which makes her look VERY disconcerting XD
