Thought of this for weeks, but finally decided to draw it and create a little story around it.

So, yeah. What if Prince Loki didn't died, raised King Matthias like he wanted to, and eventually escaped from the Genocide Event with him? Then Loki would have become the first King of the Murray Nest, and all of his virions would have been good guys... even Prince Scratcher! He would have managed to make a deal with the cells, to only let his virions infect already weak, sickly or very old cells, while they also help the immune cells defending Murray's body against other viruses. Loki would have been a great a King, who would not only have been deeply respected by his own subordinates, but even by the cells!

But, in this scene, Loki has stepped down from the throne a long time ago, and Matthias became the new King.
Loki is very, VERY old on this picture. The snow-white Prince has become very frail, and so skinny that his bones are visible under his skin. He's completely blind and deaf, and he's constantly shivering from old age. He's dementing, and he's suffering from painful joints and breathing difficulties. He also lost most of his teeth. Loki has developed anxiety, due to his blindness, deafness and sickliness. Loki's sense of smell isn't like before either, but still better than his eyes and ears. Due to his dementia, anxiety and pain, Loki has started to behave like a puppy again, and he's whining all the time, so Matthias stays around his father, for his scent calms him. Matthias's scent is the only thing which Loki still remembers a bit. He also likes to hold his son's paw for extra safe feeling.
Loki hasn't much time left, so Matthias is spending extra time with his poor sickly, old Papa, before he'll join the stars.
Matthias himself is also getting older, but he's still fit and healthy enough to function as King-virion.
Prince Scratcher is touching noses with his grandfather, cause that's what Loki always did with his grandpups :)


1. I'm not using true facts here, cause it's not known (or I just can't find any information about this) how old a real virion can get or how long it survives in the human body. The facts about how old a virion can get are made up, and only apply to my comic!

2. The Genocide Event is what King Matthias and King Lucius were fleeing from in the prologue of Virus Attack. Matthias is the only virion of the Hannah Nest (his parental nest) who survived this event.
