Yes, that's where Bren guns really eject. Like many early machine gun designs, they were top-feed.

They don't make'em like they used to (for very good reasons).

Well, until belt-fed weapons were made light enough for infantry squad use, these had a signature advantage over weapons like the BAR...Because having a big magazine below the gun meant you couldn't go prone with it and still shoot effectively...You had to sit up or prop yourself up or otherwise make yourself a much more obvious target to enemy rifle fire. So in that regard it made some amount of sense.
I see your point from the stand point of reality, but being that my only experience with said guns is WW2 shooters, and I was not privy to their actual purpose, using them as shooting from the hip, or even aiming from a standing position, just... seemed... awkward. I think Day of Defeat was the only WW2-ish shooter I ever played that treated bipods as something more than decoration.
You have a point there.
I brought up reality in reference to furry art.
WHAT WAS I THINKING? ;D
Bipods are an interesting adaptation. There's a reason why you don't see them on battlefield sniping rifles but do occasionally on urban. Your police sniper will probably only fire one or two cold shots after a leisurely walk into position, then walk out again. Your field man will probably wriggle through insanely dense "impassable" terrain fairly frequently, doesn't need more things to get hung up on brush, doesn't need anything that places any stress on the barrel at any possibly variable angle because they may be firing hot as well as cold, and flex of the barrel does begin to enter into it. On an LMG they make a certain amount of sense, but they're a poor substitute for a real heavy tripod mount.

I am not a fool, facial anatomy is utterly different, being an entirely different species and all, so that gives no reliable indicators, hair, bodytype (aside from bust) and the like similarly give little indications one way or the other.
In summary, fuck you with a tire iron for assuming I attach gender states solely to cleavage.
