It is no small feat to be programmer, artist, animator, and designer (with how small I assume your team is, I'm assuming most everybody is involved in every aspect in some form or another). I'm honestly having a hard enough time trying to refine my skills to become a professional game designer, and I'm well aware that it's a heck of a lot more than coming up with ideas. After all, anyone can have an idea; it's going from concept to functioning and entertaining product that's the hard part. A designer must communicate clearly the exact definitions of what must be done, so that the artist knows what to draw and the programmer must make the code do, and so forth throughout the disciplines. And there are always changes to be made throughout, adjustments to original ideas, or enhancements, and making sure that the product maintains its identity throughout the creation process and does not get lost among the various departments to become something altogether different and jumbled. Unfortunatelt, it's also not a position that realy has an "entry level" spot. Even worse, in this economy, it seems everyone is looking for at least 2 years industry experiance, and a 4 year college degree may not cut it. What I'm trying to do is to get a spot as a tester now (and even there their often looking for years of experiance), where I can show my understanding of game system and their funtionality, and prove that I have to knowhow to design such systems, as well as the story elements of character and plot, and how they can tie into mechanics. Kudos to you and those you are working with to make this "dream" project into reality, taking it from the "wouldn't it be cool" daydreaming thought to something tangible and real.
The sprites are looking nice. I gotta say, I really like the trees, as well as the nice touch of overgrown walkways that fit smoothly with the rest, breaking up monotony and giving a greater sense of realism to the scene. This game is looking better with each iteration, and I can't wait to try out the newest version. Not being mean or critical, but your current demo to me seems more like a "proof of concept" than a demo; something that demonstrates the concept of the game and proof that the design works and is functional. But, as you've said in various iterations, this game is still very young, and I understand and respect that. Here's to seeing the project to completion.

as you can see the team is in fact very small. two programmers and one is only in it part time and only for small things as he is UA and can't exactly work on a game that involves UB AV etc. The game IS in it's early stages and is far from completion,so far there is only a microscopic part of the story shown in the game. I didn't know you were a programmer as well, maybe you could give some programming input if the team ever runs int any trouble.
thank you for your critique on the new tiles, as you've seen in one f my latest journals the screens are even being mistaken for a "real" game. I'm also happy that you recognized the previews demos as concepts instead of "this is the best it's going to get".

Actually, I'm not a "programmer", and don't intend to be. The way I see it there are three core fields in game development: Artist, Programmer, and Designer. Animator and Modeller are big, but I kinda fit them under Artist for the time being. I know a little of C++ and Flash, but that's about it; whoever you have programming, they know more than me for sure (or at least more than I can remember, which isn't all that much).
Now, in-game economy, character and story writing, combat systems, class systems and leveling, that's the kind of stuff I work most with and wouldn't mind you asking for my opinion if you wished.
