BABY'S FIRST ART DOLL, and of course it's the lil' grub baseform of Benrey from my The Thing/HLVRAI crossover au :B

he's five inches long, which is a full inch longer than Grubrey should be, but ah well. still a lil' guy.

his head and feet are made of super sculpey, and painted with acrylics. his antennae are craft wire sandwiched between leather ribbon, held together with flexible fabric glue. i used gorilla glue to attach the edges of the body fabric to the clay parts. he's stuffed with quilting batting, which i just cut into strips and wrapped around the wireframe of his body, to get his shape all filled out nice, which made cutting the fabric to fit his body way easier. i did everything on him except for stitching his seams closed and sewing the little wrinkles along his back. my mom did that for me :P

because of the couple of mistakes/inaccuracies i made with this first attempt, i actually do wanna try making a second one! tho next time, i wanna try making his head and feet out of resin. that way i'll only have to sculpt one foot, instead of trying to sculpt six identical feet XD;
