A firm believer in the Great Journey Zala 'Null leads a small squad against UNSC strongholds. Though she'll never admit it, holds a "fondness" for human males. I wanna make a comic but I can't think of a story.

Hey, love the art. However, could you change the first name of her a bit? I have a female Sangheili OC too since years that goes with the first name Zala and I really don't want to have her mistaken for another OC with nsfw art out there. Not accusing you of stealing the name or anything, since it could just be a coincidence. I'm just a bit concerned about my art getting associated with the nsfw stuff.
You can check my original art of her here: https://www.deviantart.com/dragunal.....Zala-776362367

I get your point but I don't think it's fair to compare the use of the same name in more than seven billion humans which all have IDs, addresses, social numbers and so on to prevent being mistaken for a different person with the same name, compared to a very small number of made up OCs in the Halo lore. It's common courtesy among OC creators doing a quick google search in the fandom they're in to prevent same or too similar names in a fandom, and drawings of my OC are pretty much the first thing showing up if you google "halo oc zala".
My problem isn't even really with shared first names of OCs, it's more the fact that the artist is heavily hinting at this OC being used for nsfw stuff and since I'm a scientific illustrator, I'd like to prevent even more weird fetish requests from spamming my work mailbox, just because they get OCs mixed up. Since the artist hasn't bothered to answer my question yet, I'll just assume the worst that he either doesn't care or wants to screw me over on purpose for some reason. Really hope that's not the case but oh well... guess I'll have to ask the final buyer of the OC to please change the name then, before I have to try and contain internet drama with official statements and what not.

I said do a quick google search through the fandom, not check the whole internet. As I said, google "Halo oc Zala" and mine is the very first showing up. And my Zala has a different name, I'm purely talking if the first name that can cause confusion.
Also why are you insulting me and accusing me of starting drama out of the blue just because I disagree? First that's childish as hell and second, I'm sure the artist can speak for himself without you having to white-knight for him.

I mean. Not to be that guy to point out, but you did come onto some random artist's OC auction and start throwing around and demanding they change the OC name. That is kinda starting stuff already, especially with you IMMEDIATELY jumping the gun and thinking the worst of the artist.
I, being around for over a decade in the Halo and such art community know that you DAMN WELL know that there are tens of thousands and thousands of halo OCs. Some of which (Myself included) who used one of like 3 or 4 'covenant name generator' sites to make up names for these OCs. There is literally no harm no foul when it comes to making OCs that we legally don't even technically own as per Microsoft's ownership of the franchise. Its a name. Just Deal with it.
Close friend of mine had the pleasure of having a character with the last name "Cinotee" Few years down the line the whole Minorelite incident happened where "Thoy Cinotee" tried to take on some big shitposting youtube. Did my guy call foul? No. He shrugged and was like "Damn. Someone had a name like my OC's.... Oh well. Cant do anything about it."
Again, not to be that guy. But I wouldn't get worked up over such a trivial thing. You have been around for over a decade here and have put out awesome content. You have a reputation and legacy behind you. Be bigger than this please.

It wasn't my intent to start shit, nor did I DEMAND the artist to change the name or insult him. I asked if it's possible to change the name, since it's "just" an adoptable, so there seems no emotional attachment to the name to begin with. But yeah, you're the second person here that says I'm coming off as threatening to cause drama, so I guess my comment did come off the wrong way. I'm sorry, that wasn't my intention. Guess I put it together too hastily, since people on the CovenantCanon discord informed me that someone "stole" the name and were already starting to get out their pitchforks to attack the artist, which I wanted to prevent, since I'm not a fan of white-knighting and online bullying. And thinking of it, I could have discussed it with the artist in private to begin with... So yeah, guess you're right.
I just don't want to be associated with NSFW stuff is all, since I do work in the art industry. That stuff can stick to you like a plasma grenade, so I'm somewhat sensitive to the topic and fed up with it after my ex-buddy tried for years to drag me and my art through the mud online by flagging it as stolen, porn, etc. just because I wasn't supporting his path and criminal career, which did interfere with my career in real life. So I hope you understand that to me it's not just a trivial thing. But yeah, guess my comment came off as assholeish, though I didn't intend it to be that way. Again, my bad.
