Stan, Devons father, is an astronaut with no sense of humor. Possibly doesn't even notice he has a son because he's so busy on missions.
While they were on the planet, Devon hopped out of the ship and roamed around, but didn't make it back in time for the departure. They'll never be able to find him because its a big planet (no pun intended) and they didn't even know he'd been on the ship. They wont know where to look.
He stumbles upon a large backyard garden and pigs out on the foreign foods without noticing one of the native aliens was watching him.
He's captured, sent to the leader of the village, and assigned under the charge of Sana's mother, Bosella. They agree that he would make the perfect pet, but he's not too sure.
