So had a strange idea after getting a craving for garlic cheese bread, decided to use said bread for burgers
Note that anything I list as optional did get added to the one in the picture
The garlic cheese bread:
2 hamburger buns (these were Hawaiian bread)
2 tablespoons butter
Pizza blend or mozzarella cheese, shredded.
Garlic powder
Optional: cayenne pepper, Greek seasoning
The burgers:
8 oz ground beef (your preference fat percentage)
Salt
Pepper
Cheddar cheese
Optional: garlic powder, cayenne pepper, adobo
Last optional bit: any additional burger toppings you prefer. I went with a little kewpie Mayo.
Preheat oven to 400 degrees
Spread butter on inside of hamburger buns
Sprinkle garlic powder (also optional seasoning here too)
Add pizza blend or mozzarella
Place in oven on a baking sheet, set timer for ten minutes
Set a pan on the stove, preheat on medium medium high (so like 6.5/10)
Split ground beef into 2 oz balls, and using a flat object, squash as flat as you can into pan
Cook evenly on both sides, you’re looking for that crispy rendered texture of meat to form
Add cheddar cheese to two of the patties.
Assembly:
If timed right the burgers will be done shortly after the timer expires.
Place cheddar topped patties on bottom buns, then non cheddar patties on top of those. Add any extra toppings you want, then smush the top bun down on the whole thing.
Cheesy, garlicky, savory, and now I’m gonna go take a nap. I’m not a big toppings person for my burgers, so it definitely was a lot heavier on the stomach than it’d likely be for any of you with the lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, etc.
