This is a set of Level IIIA ballistic guards I worked on over the past few days. These are actually the second set. the first had no belt and was OD/CB in color. Shown on my upper torso is my previously made concealed cut outer carrier.

These are primarily designed to protect vehicle crews from roadside bombs and possible paralysis by providing increased ballistic protection to the lower spine and seat area. At the same time they can be connected to a groin protector in the front in order to form a stand alone lower torso system. This leaves the upper torso armor disconnected from the lower armor, and increases mobility.

Future versions will incorporate provisions for hanging upper leg armor or drop leg MOLLE panels.
