It sort of baffles me that you still worry you aren't giving your work "the time it deserves." I don't know anyone who spends as much time on individual panels and pages and storylines as you, or anyone whose work time is as focused and dedicated as yours (my worktime is sprinkled with a healthy dose of reading blogs, sketching unrelated things, playing with the cat).
You have your weaknesses as a cartoonist--so do I, so does everybody--but that is unquestionably not one of them.

No it's not. You have the art equivalent of a body image disorder. You could spend 23 hours a day creating lush, meticulous artwork, and you'd still look at the page and see scribble stickfigures and castigate yourself for not working hard enough and for that hour you had to spend sleeping.
