More PaperDemon ARPG stuff. Part of starting is making a talisman for your character, an object of great personal importance that they carry with them on their travels. The prompt was to write a story that tells how the character got the talisman and why it's so important. For this, I brought in another old fursona: Casey.
Also, between Snivy, Ralts, and now this, bad parenting is kinda becoming a theme in my writing, so I feel the need to say that my parents are great people, and this is NOT from experience. Bad parents just make for good conflict.
Also also, the prompt said "at least 600 words", and I ended up writing 1300. So that's a good sign.
If you enjoyed the story, please comment! I love hearing responses to my writing!

"I'm 16 years old, I can't have stuffed animals." Come on Elian, I literally came up with an elaborate plan just to go out of my way to buy plushies at 16.
Overall I think this story is pretty interesting, definitly makes me more excited to see what's gonna come in the future.
Also, yes, bad parents are a pretty convenient thing for writing.

lol yeah, it took Elian a while to realize the true beauty of stuffed animals. Fun Fact: Casey was actually based on my real-life bunny plushie. And now I've made a plushie based on Casey. The cycle is complete.
The next prompt is the Latent Element Challenge, where Elian unlocks their elemental powers. Then the real adventures begin (i think (i don't actually know much about the arpg)). A thing I should probably say is that this is less a continuous story, and probably more episodic. Maybe. Honestly, I'm excited to see what happens next too, because even I don't know.
Bonus Fun Fact: My parents are totally cool with me having plushies. Also I'm literally in my 3rd year of college.
