I made him to go along with my horror stuff because I needed someone who I could kill and maim repeatedly, but I like him a lot so he just might appear occasionally among my normal stuff as well. Dark/Light Eternals are the level of divinity akin to an angel of death.

Heh, heh, I've thought about this.
For the most part disconnected pieces will reattach if returned to their proper place. If that can't happen, the side with his heart is most likely to regrow while the other does not. If you manage to split his heart perfectly down the middle, his divine aspect will just chose a side to regrow (if the two sides can't be rejoined). In the event of the total destruction of his body (ie being thrown into a wood chipper), he'll reincarnate in the body of another creature (most likely another bear) and gradually morph into himself again (in the style of Edgar Allen Poe's "Ligeia"). Grizz would only truly die when Eternals who are hunting him finally claim his soul.
I believe that covers most scenarios. :)
