My husband had a dwarf fortress game where he gained a migrant child, Inod, and his parents. Inod was a strange looking child to begin with, but also had some very odd preferences. Namely his love of eating Monarch butterflies.

Eventually, all of the fortress was destroyed by demons. Except for Inod. Inod managed to live off of the stored food and ale, which just happened to be far enough away that the demons didn't notice. He lived outside for two years on his own, sleeping on rocks in the rain. He endured the death of his family, the rotting of his parents and everyone he knew in the fortress. However, the entire time he was ecstatic. For two years. Inod is just plain terrifying.
