This little fellow is Ryvyx, or more often called Rye. They are an example of a species of whiptail information managers, WHIMs, a synthetic species that had modest origins in being living PDAs riding on your shoulder to an eventual galactic conflict when they started self replicating and declared independence. Rye is a Warp class Whim which places his lineage back to the original defector replicator experiments more than ten centuries before his time.

Rye is 8 inches tall (about 20 cm) and almost twice that from nose to tail. They are equally happy in air or water though running round on little legs gets old. Sometimes a little too trusting and otherwise stuck out on his own, one can expect to see them doing small, cute things and probably ending up in awkward places.

Fun Fact: These little things can metabolize alcohol as a main calorie source. Rye's nickname comes from rye whiskey, his favorite variety of expensive fermented plant extracts.
