A commission for Relaxing Dragon, of his raccoon character. Actually, a lot of you may recognize this background from our Photoshop shading tutorial - http://dreamkeepers.deviantart.com/.....lery/#/d22z97g
I needed a background to drop into it, and had just finished the one in this commission, and thought it fit the bill. In retrospect, I’m still very pleased with how it holds up. I feel like I’ve generally done my job on a background if I find myself wishing I could pop into it for a visit. I don’t know what I’d do once there, though - it looks quiet. Too quiet. Like there’s something waiting there - quietly standing out of sight, and waiting, and watching for someone to stumble unwittingly into the scene. If I disturbed the calm, something horrible would happen - like the guardian sasquatch would stomp out and come for me. I’d have to swim for it, because I’m not sure yeti can swim. But it could just run around the lake, waiting for me to get out - and then I’d be stuck in the lake, with a huge monster waiting to pound on me the moment I stepped ashore. And trapped in the chill water, hypothermia would inevitably set in. And I’d be waiting there, getting colder, and colder, as the sasquatch stared at me in the growing silence and stillness, and then - forget it, I’m cancelling my visit. I hate yeti.
