I don't think the lineart is smoother, i did do a little effect on the pic makes it look a little different.

Heh yeah the fire on the hair was one of the first things that thought of, i thought it would show just how close the fireball was ^-^

You know what this makes me think of? Soul Eater; this truly gives off a Soul Eater vibe.

I saw that. Admittedly, I don't really see the Jet Grind Radio influence, but I believe I can see the influences with everything else.
I'm glad a property such as Soul Eater can influence you and allow you to attempt different things with your art. I look forward to seeing what else you have on the horizon.

Oooo, *very* actiony and stylish.

I love that the sword hilt is all guitar-themed... guitar stock for the hilt, guitar keys set into the hand guard... VERY stylish. XD

Wonderful sense of motion. Good folds in the cloth, and very nice job with the way that light from the fireball helps make it feel all the *closer* a miss, especially with the two 'sparks' touching off there.
