So! I will be moving across the country in March, and to nobody's surprise, it's a lot of money! So I figured I'd do a YCH comic to cover the costs!
Q: How will it work?
A: Just like a normal YCH auction for the 4 main characters and the Transporter Operator

The cameo slots are purely background characters, they have no lines, but I promise they will all be seen at least twice, once smaller and once larger (though not necessarily once entirely uninflated, and once fully inflated, one or both could be mid-sized).
They're a fixed price at $40, but they will NOT be first-come-first-serve, instead they will be mostly raffled, but I may choose to reject if that person has gotten things from me recently, etc. Comment below (in the right place) to be considered.
All 4 of the main characters get roughly the same amount of appearances, but the science officer does have a bit more emphasis because their role at the end. The Transporter Operator is a background character but shows up consistently at 4 different sizes, but they don't play a huge role, story-wise.
Q: Why is it so much money to be a main character?
A: This is going to be a comic that is approximately 20 pages, perhaps even more, and can consider each character getting about 5 pages of runtime dedicated to them. Even at the AB price, that's $100/page, which I don't feel to be that unreasonable for a price point.
Q: What will the quality of this comic be like?
A: I estimate it will be similar to this in length and style, though the backgrounds may be a bit more detailed in areas, and some parts may be shaded. But the comic will be full color, lined.
Q: Are there any restrictions on character species or gender?
A: Nope! Other than the comic will be SFW, any character design, gender, species, etc is fine.
Q: Why do we all have to wear these ridiculous ties? (Do we have to wear the uniforms?)
A: Largely yes, they're part of the universe, certainly the colors are important, but they can be adapted, within reason, such as extra adornments or total change in fit/style (pants/shorts/skirt, short-sleeve, long-sleeve, button up, pull over, etc)
Q: What is the story like? How do I know what will happen?
A: A full plot outline can be found here
Q: What's the timing of things?
A: The auction will close Monday, January 3 at Noon PST. The comic will be worked on in January, and will most likely continue development into February and maybe even March, I'm not rushing the comic itself.
Q: Do you expect payment up front?
A: For the cameos, yes, but for the main characters, no. If you prefer to pay up-front, that is fine, but otherwise I require just a down payment of 25% of the total amount, and then the rest canbe paid as the comic is made. If anything does happen and for some reason I'm not able to complete the comic, I will be giving refunds where applicable.
Q: Do I have to follow the personalities listed on the pic?
A: Not strictly, the dialogue hasn't been written for a reason, but I would prefer the characters act at least reasonably for their role, and will work with the buyers to make the dialogue fit the character.
Q: Do I need to know or care about Star Trek at all to be involved?
A: Nope. This is just a setting, tbh, I should have probably made it a more original setting but couldn't think of ways to make it actually distinct, so decided I'd just make it Star Trek.
