Story is mine, written by
fallout19980
Weightless, Franz felt his body slap against the air, heard the violent roar of wind, felt himself embraced by an unimaginable cold.
All he wanted was to touch her. To feel her skin. To be held in her arms and hear her voice. To be taught virtues he’d forgotten, to be reminded of that life he lived countless years ago. Yet as the light grew dimmer and her figure grew distant he didn’t fear what was going to come. Instead he felt emotions thought long forgotten.
Sorrow. Regret.
It was the idea of never seeing her again that made him feel sorrow, of never having a chance to “mend”. Her image grew distant, becoming a speck midst clouds golden and grey. It was alright. All he could ever think of was her.
Was he going to blame himself for this? No. Was there a moment he’d reconsider? Never.
The most prudent accusation is pure stupidity but that had little substance to Franz. It made sense to him. He could mull it over and feel like it were the right thing to do and for him that was all he needed.
He didn’t fear death. He died the moment he agreed to play immortal and erase his memories.
At least the end would be quick.
