This is "Ghostmedic", a metafur character I adopted from
goliathcpg over here https://www.furaffinity.net/view/4940800/
She didn't have much background, just one picture and thirteen speaking lines as a minor character in goliathcpg's story "The Hunt for Chaos Theory" (THfCT) so I've put together a quite detailed history and character personality for her and 'rescued' her from the fate of being a undeveloped minor character. She actually looks a lot different when she's not in her 'mission outfit' so I'll eventually need to get a proper refsheet for her.
Character Info Summary (list based on things seen listed on various descriptions of other characters):
Name: <classified and not known outside her military project> (birth name: Shelia Kitrina Bund)
Super Villain/Minion Name: Ghostmedic ("that's my operating handle, I object to this categorization, I don't want to be a villain")
Superhero Name: Ghostflyer or Phantom Flyer ("that's the military operating handle I typically use now"); "Dreamtime"
DOB: Sept 12, xxxx <year as per age and setting; as a marsupial this is ~8 months off of the equivalant for a placental mammal>
POB: near Cedar City, UT, USA ("I'm not Australian, I'm from Utah" <or possibly> "My parents were Australian, I'm from Utah")
DOP: May 1, xxxx+1 <Date Out of Pouch, this is a better reference for a placental DOB, ~231 days after her 'DOB'>
Age: 22 or 23 years old <"Ghostmedic" looks like she's in her thirties due to makeup>
-- note: depending on the time of year for "The Hunt for Chaos Theory" and whether you use DOB or DOP in she might only be 22 in that story
Gender: female (cisgender, tends towards agender)
Sexual Orientation: she thinks she's an ace (asexual) but she's probably actually a demisexual bi
Species: eastern grey kangaroo 🦘
Anthro level: fully anthro, but has mostly marsupial reproductive anatomy including a pouch)
-- note: she also has a pseudo cloaca, three vaginas and two uteruses (Google kangaroo anatomy)
Nationality: United States ("I'm not from Australia, I'm an American", she's a first-generation immigrant and her parents are naturalized citizens)
Handedness: left-handed (most kangaroos are)
Blood Type: O+
Height: 174cm (5'8½")
Weight: 78kg (172lb) ("it's all in the tail", she doesn't look it & it's all muscle; she's actually quite strong for a 'normal', especially her legs and tail)
Eye Color: gray <or reddish brown as "Ghostmedic"> (outside of the USA her eye colour is grey)
Fur Color: gray with silver-gray belly and a few grayish-brown highlights <grayish red fur with rust colored highlights as "Ghostmedic">
Hair Color: n/a (no headfur or buzzcut) <or a long black or white wig as "Ghostmedic">
Physical Appearance: a fairly nondescript small chested anthro eastern grey kangaroo in athletic physical condition <"Ghostmedic" is padded to be a curvy DD>
Outfits: <casual civilian, military (BDU/ACU or dress), mission outfit>
-- her default civilian outfit is worn sneakers & cargo shorts or cutoffs, a t-shirt, a loose button down shirt partially unbuttoned, and a cute reddish-purple beret
-- she also has a number of t-shirts including: "US Army", "Marsupial Lives Matter", "Join the Kangaroo Mob", "Know Your Limits", "GM's Girlfriend" (a gift)...
-- ...and a plain white t-shirt with lettering handwritten in Sharpie, "I got my tossed on my tail by a nine-tailed kitsune and lived to tell about it"
-- her ACU (Army Combat Uniform) is the same as other soldiers (note: BDU battle dress uniform is an older term)
-- her army warrant officer's dress uniform shows her as Army Medical Service Corps (MS), see insignia
-- her default 'mission outfit' is a white tight fitting vaguely para-military body suit with matching boots & knee-pads and red cross patches on the shoulders
-- ...she has a shawl/poncho/cape top to wear over it to both accessorize and hide it as well as cover any gear at her belt or in shoulder holsters
-- as "Dreamtime": tribal-themed 'bikini' outfit, Australian-themed 'fur paint', feathers on her forearms, wedge-shaped bird tailfeathers combined with her 'roo tail
Meta Powers: invisibility, invisibility with limited partial intangibility*, invisibility with brief full intangibility/phasing*, partial awareness of mental powers being used nearby**, telepathic/psychic feedback**, crazy dreams that sometimes have real information she has no reason to know and might possibly sometimes even be precognitive**, and perhaps something that hasn't been revealed yet** (*classified Top Secret compartmentalized; **unknown and unproven)
Power Level: as "Ghostmedic" or "Phantom Flyer" currently rated 3 (typical superhero) and potentially 4 (high-powered superhero); however if she is faced with opponents of a much higher power level than her, particularly aggressive or abusive ones, she has the uncanny ability to somehow seem to have at least a chance against them (almost as if she was the hero or main character of a story) or simply disappear, this effect has not been documented and its limits are not known but it might be effective up to power level 10 (extinction-level) or even above. <see here for explanation of 'power levels'>
Power Level (optional): as "Dreamtime" probably 5 or 6 (Avengers-level superhero, about the level or Vision or Spectrum/Photon/Captain Marvel), in this state she is essentially a demigod or the avatar of a powerful spirit/god, however she can't become Dreamtime unless there is some serious threat that justifies it.
Power Origin/Source: uncertain (and no technological equipment or 'magic' can detect anything out of the ordinary about her when she isn't manifesting a 'power')
Strengths: intelligence (IQ 130+), analysis, strategy/tactics, extensive training, athletic fitness, meta powers, not a killer
Weaknesses: not a killer, lacks offensive meta powers (that she's willing to use), doesn't want meta powers, normal furson (she is pretty tough and athletic for a normal but she's not physically beyond the range of normal), military enlistment (legally required to obey orders, must report to superiors, etc.), reluctant, lack of experience, subject to sometimes freezing up in panic or getting post combat shakes (less likely when she is on mood meds), on anti-anxiety medication, sometimes takes sleeping pills when she has trouble handling her dreams, she becomes violently ill when she is teleported and is totally incapacitated by waves of nausea (requiring powerful anti-nausea meds to function at all)
Personality: <see Strengths & Weaknesses> MBTI: Intj; religious upbringing but gave it up when she left home for college, rather nerdy and a bit geeky, scientific worldview ("agent Scully"), nervous, cautious, introverted, overly analytical, a bit cold and not especially empathic, if it weren't for her ethics and commitment against killing she'd be a fearsome assassin
Brief Bio: Her parents emigrated from Australia to a small town in Utah with little more than their dungarees before she was born after some incident they never talk about. She's the second youngest and most successful of six siblings. After two years of pre-med university education she lost her academic scholarship and joined the army with the hope of returning to finish her degree and become an M.D. after her enlistment was over. While training to become an army nurse the Army learned about her potential for a meta power (invisibility) and she was assigned to extensive additional training in covert ops and special operations. She recently washed out of the training to be a 'Green Beret' special operations combat medic. She is a Warrant Officer (for being a meta) and while still technically an army nurse or medical specialist, she's currently less of a nurse and more of a spec-ops medic and reluctant meta counterintelligence agent. Her powers have expanded to partial intangibility about a year ago and recently to full intangibility/phasing (highly classified), which has skyrocketed her value to the military and gotten her dragged into some questionable black ops. She may have psychic powers and currently seems to either be developing some power related to dreaming or going insane, perhaps both.
Occupation: Enlisted, Warrant Officer (WO1), officially an Army Medical Specialist, unofficially counterintelligence and meta spec ops
Areas of Operation: anywhere the army sends her (although after "THfCT" she may refuse a 'mission' that doesn't appear to have proper operational authority)
Fighting Style: reluctant but surprisingly competent at practical mixed martial arts (army counterintelligence agent and special operations combat training), along with some kickboxing and Taekwondo (from high school hobbies), and some practical Jujitsu (mostly learned from other folks in Green Beret training and meta training)
Association: Army (meta brigade, brigade support battalion, Charlie Company medical group, but often on 'loan' to the brigade staff Military Intelligence Company)
Affiliates: The 'military meta' team of Col. "Dog of War" & Lt. "Last Stand"; also associated with the 'geek squad' at the military meta base she's at; single, no significant other, not looking, not dating, no high school boyfriends, didn't go to the prom
Alignment: <complex, she'd prefer to be a hero, or better yet an M.D. or scientist and uninvolved in silly meta antics, but she exists in a setting where the government and military are often portrayed as the villains and she'll follow any orders that are not 'manifestly unlawful' though how hard she tries and how much initiative she shows will depend on how much she agrees with the orders>
Role: <varies> often a foil or hero antagonist and she makes a good 'heroic' foil for vigilante characters who think she's a villain (but she can be hero, ally, sidekick, foil, anti-villain, victim, and sometimes comedy relief (much to her embarrassment); she'd prefer to be a hero but has been seen as resigned to playing the role of villain who is following orders, the role she is least likely to play is vigilante; as a fully detailed minor character with a complete background she is useful for character exposition discussions with the main characters)
Artwork info (typical):
Expression: often pictured either looking professional or reluctant as if she doesn't really want to be there, occasionally happy
-- she likes being happy, she doesn't like being ordered to do things that are questionably ethical but tries to be professional
-- she likes being treated like a person, she doesn't like being beat up or being humiliated/abused by metas ten times her power
anthro kangaroo (Eastern Grey Kangaroo, NOT actually a Red Kangaroo even though the Ghostmedic makeup sort of looks like one)
-- her body structure can vary somewhat, depending on an artist's interpretation of an anthro kangaroo
-- she typically has a human body structure with human shoulders and normal sized plantigrade feet though she can be drawn as digitigrade too
-- as a bipedal plantigrade anthro that walks (not hops) she doesn't normally have a 'feral' kangaroo's teardrop body shape...
-- ...though she can be drawn with an actual 'feral' body with humanlike hands if that's an artist's interpretation of her
-- -- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Easte....._grey_kangaroo
kangaroo head, ears, and nose (NOT canine, a deer would be closer than a dog)
-- please look at some pictures of the Eastern Grey Kangaroo, she's not a Red Kangaroo (which have different faces and noses) nor a dog
-- her head, muzzle and ears are closer to a deer than a dog
-- in particular, she's a herbivore-type so her eyes aren't positioned like a predator's (though she does have about 30 degrees of binocular vision)
-- her head can have a big skull like is typical for anthros, depending on the artist's style, her head doesn't need real animal proportions
kangaroo teeth (only relevant if her mouth is open)
-- most antro pictures don't show them with their mouths open so this is uncommon and kangaroos have a fairly small gape,
-- kangaroos can't open their mouths as wide as a dog 'yawning', their mouth/lips don't go as far back as a canine
-- she's not a dog or a carnivore, there are no canine teeth at all and a very large gap between the incisors and molars.
-- Kangaroos are of the Order Diprotodontia, a zoology term from Greek for "two forward teeth" (or as she learned in middle school
-- "don't smile because your lower front teeth stick straight forward and most other furs think that looks really weird"),
-- her 'smile' would show six upper incisors and two lower incisors (but she could also be drawn with human-like teeth)
-- do a search on "kangaroo yawning" if you want to see what they look like with their mouths open
long-ish neck
-- the more animal-like her body the longer her neck will be, but even as a full anthro she has a somewhat longish neck
usually plantigrade with a fairly 'human' body structure (can be drawn digitigrade and more animal-like if the artist prefers)
-- when plantigrade she has big but not oversized feet, she walks (not hops) and as an anthro she's not actually a macropod (big foot)
-- when digitigrade her feet are much like a real 'roo (there are no toe pads and the black leathery foot sole extends up to the 'heel')
-- she can be drawn with an actual 'feral' body with humanlike hands in which case she looks like a real kangaroo
4 fingers (with either fingernails or short blunt black claws)
-- she can be drawn with 4 or 5 fingers, 4 is just her default because that's the default for characters in the setting she came from
-- if drawn as a 'feral' then she has 5 fingers with large claws like real 'roos and one of them is opposable unlike real 'roos
3 toes (the middle one is the longest and has a long blunt black claw, the other two are shorter and have short more triangular blunt claws)
-- technically the inside toe has 2 claws but artists rarely bother to draw 'roo feet that way (the syndactyl 'grooming claw')
-- -- example: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/18441779/ or https://www.furaffinity.net/view/6381533/
-- alternatively she can just be drawn with human style plantigrade feet with 5 toes and short straight blunt claws
-- NO PAW PADS! this is the most common mistake of artists who have never looked at a reference of a real 'roo...
-- kangaroos don't have paw pads like cats and dogs, the entire sole of their foot is bare and has a dot-like texture
-- here are a couple of pictures of what a real Eastern Grey Kangaroo foot looks like (for examples of the sole):
-- -- example on wikipedia
-- -- https://svpow.files.wordpress.com/2.....2-dscn7333.jpg
long sturdy 'roo tail
-- the tip is dark (an identifying characteristic of the eastern grey kangaroo)
-- when standing fully erect with her tail straight down it brushes the ground requiring her to hold it back or curl the tip up to walk,
-- with her knees bent perhaps two foot-lengths or so of tail would touch the ground, enough for the tip to curve up off the ground
-- her tail actually adds quite a bit to her weight, so she's heavier than she appears based on just the humanlike part of her body
her fur & eye color as well as 'hair', chest size, and makeup depend on whether she's in her 'Ghostmedic' mission makeup or not
-- as an anthro she's usually shown with human breasts (her chest nipples are the same color as her nose)
-- Shelia Bund: A or B cup, gray to brownish-gray fur, gray eyes, no to short 'headfur', no makeup (normal length eyelashes, no eye liner, doesn't look especially 'feminine')
-- Ghostmedic: DD cup, grayish red fur with rust colored highlights, reddish-brown eyes, long 'headfur' (a wig, color varies), makeup (looks more 'feminine')
marsupial: 'roo pouch, no navel
-- NO NAVEL! Seriously she does NOT have one at all, navels are for placental mammals and she's a marsupial
-- however the opening of her marsupial pouch actually looks something like a large navel
-- only cartoon 'roos have pouches with a slit like opening that looks like a pants pocket
-- real 'roo pouches have a small very elastic round opening that is difficult to see in a tuft of chest fur
-- -- example: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/23774469/ or https://www.furaffinity.net/view/6381533/
-- [if naked: 'roo anatomy "bits": marsupial vent - a pseudo cloaca that hides both genitals and anus (no separate external tailhole)]
-- regarding sexual organs... marsupials are quite different from primates, canines & felines
-- female 'roos don't have their sexual organs located/visible where it would be in human anatomy
-- 'roos have a single 'vent', the one vent is it, there's no visible vagina or anus which are mostly hidden inside the vent,
no piercings, tattoos, or body modifications (might have military 'dog tags')
