Both of which are getting into trouble as kids(loosely used because they're not fully grown but are sexually mature for their species) because neither parent cares about them. Here Seiye's jerking aggressively to control and bully his bird while Zaiti is threatening his with claws to its throat if it does not comply. A subtle cue to their future personalities.
Really the birds are a generic large species, big enough to carry them and these two are just being shits as unwatched children are. They are truly chaotic.
