In the aftermath of defeating the bandits at the old elvish fortress, Ethyriel is left facing the consequences of the transformation he was forced to endure as a result of a mysterious power somehow connected with the no-longer massively obese bronze dragoness who has been domineering over him since she first rescued his fledgling self. It begins to dawn on him the nature of the dragoness's power, however, as he will soon discover, it may already be too late to escape the trap she's woven for him.

With Ylssa finding a Dragon Pearl, and his new partner devolving a fondness for his expanding waistline, it seems like Yri's having quite the streak of bad luck.
I love that as the mysteries surrounding Ylssa slowly become clear, Yri's own mysteries become more forefront. I wonder what the full extent of his powers entail, and why he seems so reluctant to use them despite how harmless they seem?

You know, that's a nuance I honestly didn't notice as me and 
yjay were going back and forth in writing this. We did design the power play between Ylssa and Ethyriel to change like this as the... ahem, weight changed claws, but actually Ethyriel's backstory evolved as we were writing, and so did the nature of Ylssa's power after we decided to introduce the Dragon Pearl. I was honestly surprised at how long it took Ethyriel to realize and respond to the changes he was going through, lol. And of course, by now, it's pretty much too late for him to go back. =P
