I wanted to make some gryphons based on real birds, keeping as close to their colourations as possible. From left to right, top to bottom, there's a kestrel, blue jay, barn owl and ruby-throated hummingbird. I'll probably do more because they are sooo much fun to paint. I also tried to give their feline parts a different body type at times (kestrel + cheetah, blue jay + snow leopard, barn owl + snow leopard and hummingbird + house cat).
I want to paint the blue jay again, but in flight, because the most colourful part (the top part of their wings) is mostly hidden in this pic T_T

The alternative to these guys is basing their markings more off their feline half (so tiger stripes, leopard spots, etc.). I decided to go with birds though 'cuz they're so colourful and I love birdies. I've seen some gryphs based off real birds but not very many.

You've blended the two species very well and the fluff around the feet makes my heart melt. <3
And it must've taken courage drawing that owl tail in combination with the feline tail, I would've been too afraid of ruining it to add that.
But you've made it go together so well. I envy your bravery in art, if that makes sense. <.< lol
