idk when her dad left her but it seems to be when she was a kid, and I like the head canon that her mother passed away early on, so in my canon she would have been very young and managing the farm all by herself

Its canon that she won Sharp Shooting awards when she was a kid, so if any thieves sneak around the farm knowing there's a kid all alone so its easy to take her on, I think they'd be in for a surprise
